Gabriela Marques is a trilingual community development leader born and raised in Brazil. As Manager of the City of Albuquerque's Office of Civil Rights and Consumer Protection, she advocates for residents facing discrimination in public accommodation, employment and housing, and unfair business practices, scams, or fraud, creating better systems for individuals. Previously, as Center Director of New Mexico's Minority Business Development Agency, she scaled the organization to serve 500+ businesses and secured $3.5 million in federal funding. She serves on multiple boards and has received numerous awards for her economic development work. Gabriela holds a Master's degree in Pacific International Affairs from UC San Diego and a Bachelor's in Political Economy from UC Berkeley.
