Herbert has been a planner in the American southwest for 30 years. He started his career working with Native American communities in Arizona until he moved to New Mexico to get a master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning from UNM. Since then, he has worked in community planning with local governments, Native American communities, and non-profit organizations. He enjoyed his short experience as a land use planner in Maui, but he decided to move back home to New Mexico after the firestorms devastated Lahaina. Herbert is a proud father of one son and a dedicated bicycle commuter and volunteer.
